Lip Trill
Lip trills are super fast lip slurs. The way we practice these is by starting really slow, and then speeding up rhythmically. The interval typically is wider in contrast to using the valve. This form of trill is more found in solo music, however composers like Stravinsky and Kodály used this in the orchestra.

Valve Trill
Another kind of trill, however can be done with any trombone using a trigger. If there is a trombone without any valves, then this is not possible and the player must use their lips to trill. Trilling with the valve realists in a smaller interval to go back and forth.

Scoop
Scoops are small, fast glissandi between multiple pitches. The way jazz trumpeters do scoops is by half valving from a lower pitch and locking in on an upper pitch. Trombone players have it a bit easier as we can just move the slide.

Multiphonics
Multi-phonics can be achieved when the player sings one pitch and buzzes another into the trombone, making it sound like two pitches. This technique is relatively hard to perform well, which is why it is not written often.
